Just as with the previous updates, one of the characters will be available for free.
On August 24 Genshin impact will receive the next big update 3.0 that will add a ton of new content to the game. Starting from new characters and finishing with a new Element and a new region to explore, Sumeru. In the new update, you will also be able to claim a new free character.
Prior to the update release, HoYoverse published a list of the main features of the update. WTFTime compiled the key changes that will appear in Genshin Impact along with the 3.0 update.
The main changes that the Sumeru update brings us
A new region, Sumeru. Teyvat’s center of the science and academic minds. It is divided into two parts, a desert, and a jungle. In update 3.0 players will get the jungle part, the desert will be added to the game later.
A new element, Dendro. Based on three concepts: catalysis, wisdom, and life. Along with the new Element, there will be two elemental reactions. Catalysis occurs when Electro and Dendro collide. Butonization is a combination of Hydro and Dendro.
Two new weapons, a 4 and 5 rarity star bows. The 4-star one can be obtained as part of the event for the dungeon challenge.
New events, in one of the events you can get a new hero for free, this is going to be Collei.
- Lost Treasures: an event about a treasure hunt, the rewards are resources and special items.
- Trials of Faiz: an event in which the player helps an explorer from Sumeru to find the vulnerabilities of enemies.
- Children’s Tale: you have to help the Sumeru shop workers with the search for helpers. It’s from this event you will be able to claim Collei.
New characters coming with Update 3.0
A new character, Tighnari. Dendro, five stars of rarity, and armed with a bow. His arrows can chase enemies on their own, and Tignari can also create illusions that attract enemies and release arrows that multiply on impact.
A new character, Collei. Dendro, 4 rarity stars, armed with a bow. Wields a boomerang of some sort that deals repetitive Dendro damage, and can summon a minion that deals area damage.
A new character, Dori. Electro, 4 rarity stars, armed with a sword. Places a turret with electric projectiles, and summons a spirit that restores health and energy. A connection is established between the spirit and the character, causing damage to enemies.
Tighnari and Collei will be in the first banner and Dori in the second. The lineup of the first banner is already known and looks like this:
- Tighnari (5 stars, new hero).
- Zhongli (5 stars, rerun).
- Collei (4 stars, new hero).
- Fischl (4 stars, rerun).
- Diona (4 stars, rerun).
And here is the second banner:
- Kokomi (5 stars, rerun).
- Ganyu (5 stars, rerun).
- Dori (4 stars, new hero).
