One of the biggest Genshin Impact updates, the Sumeru update, is going to be released on August 24, 2022. As usual, we’re expecting to see the game become unavailable for a few hours for scheduled maintenance until it will be available to the players.
Genshin Impact update 3.0 will bring a new region into the game. Following the events of Inazuma, the Traveler will visit Sumeru, one of the seven regions of Teyvat. It is known among the veteran players for the Sumeru Akademiya which is being referred to in the game by dozens of NPCs and books. In the Sumeru, the Traveler will meet the new Archon, the God of Wisdom, Lesser Lord Kusanali, and, as we expect, will continue the search for their sibling.
New characters are coming with the Sumeru update
With The Sumeru update, the game will also bring a few more playable characters. As of now, we know about eight characters that will be available at some point after the Sumeru update, but it is possible they won’t be released within the 3.0 window and will be gradually added as playable characters in their respective banners in the update 3.1, the update 3.2, and following.
The list of characters that are coming with the Sumeru update:
- Nahida, the Element is unknown
- Dehya, the Pyro element
- Nilou, the Hydro element
- Cyno, the Electro element
- Alhaitham, the Dendro element
- Dori, the Electro element
- Collei, the Dendro element
- Tighnari, the Dendro element
The new Dendro element
As we see, some characters introduce a new Element into the game, the Dendro element. It is the only element that is yet to be added to the game, and it represents the power of nature.
We already can find some enemies that use the Dendro element, such as the Dendro Slimes or Dendro Samachurl, but we’re yet to be able to use the Dendro Element ourselves. Thankfully, with the 3.0 update, we will get a Dendro character.
